Dear Friends:

An important meeting is coming up, Wednesday, October 5, 6:30 – 7:30, Providence Center, Room C.

We will begin our review of the Providence Comprehensive Transportation Management Plan and our task of working collaboratively with Providence to develop and implement strategies for reducing drive-alone commuting.

Dave Bodine will announce the success of Providence in hiring a TDM (Transportation Demand Manager)! This person will to work with our neighborhoods, the City, and Tri-Met to promote Providence initiatives to reduce travel-alone commuting.

2)    Glisan crossing (#12 of Current Strategies)
a) Julia Jordan will report on the parents’ group that has written PBOT, with endorsement of Laurelhurst and North Tabor, to request a meeting about a safe crossing of Glisan.
b) Dave Bodine will report on his contact with the new principal of Laurelhurst about school and PTA support of the Glisan crossing initiative.

3)    47th/Glisan intersection (#12 of Current Strategies)
Dave Bodine will report on his contact with Judith Gray (PBOT) about having a PBOT rep come to a future TWG to discuss improvement of this intersection

4)    53rd and 55th streets (#9 of Current Strategies)

    Hi Kim,

I do hope this goes through as the website errors out when “Contact Us” is clicked or I would have gone through that channel.

    Three questions.

1 – This was posted on October 2nd yet the end of your message says, “We hope to see you next Wednesday!” Is this event being hosted October 5th or October 12th?

2 – Could you please give an address for the location? Providence spans a number of buildings and I am not exactly certain which building Providence Center is.

3 – Are members of the public invited to this meeting?

    Thanks!

JC, thanks for noting the contact page isn’t working. I did some updating on the site and didn’t check that link.

The date of October 5 is the date of the talk.
Let me get back to you on the exact location. I’m pretty sure it’s the main building.
Yes, members of the public are welcome to these Transportation Working Group meetings, which is why they sent me the agenda for posting.

Very happy to see there is some interest in the community. It behooves us to participate in this process to the extent we can. I’ll check back on the location later today.

The meeting is in the new Cancer Center’s meeting/conference area, and can be approached either from the Cancer Center entrance (go right, then left) off 47th or from the Glisan entrance (go straight, then right).

I hope that gives you more specifics. I don’t think the cancer center has a separate address.

I did! Thank you and I meant to repost it.
