We’ve uploaded several transportation plans from other hospitals and from our own Tri-Met and Metro to our Other Hospitals Do section. If you are a transportation guru wanna-be, like some of us, you will enjoy reading these documents.
If you’re short on time, see if you have a few minutes to take a look at the Plan from Seattle Children’s Hospital. They actually spend money to help improve the crosswalks, intersections, and other facilities for pedestrians and bicyclists. They have charged employees to drive alone to campus and rewarded the ones who bike, walk, carpool, or take mass transit. Only 38% of their employees drive to their campus alone. At Providence Portland, the number is 67%.
